Runway unveils Solaris, an interface world model that generates interactive UIs in real time
aigclink · x · 2026-09-02
Runway today unveiled Solaris, the first model in its new family of AI systems called Interface World Models. Solaris generates and renders entire user interfaces in real time, without code or UI frameworks, responding to user clicks and drags frame by frame. By synthesizing every frame directly, it eliminates the intermediate representation (code) between design and functionality, allowing richer interfaces for both humans and agents. Runway suggests this could transform app distribution, making apps appear on demand. Current limitations include text rendering stability and long-session coherence.
