Runway's Solaris world model renders interactive UIs frame by frame, no code needed

aigclink · x · 2026-09-02

Runway released Solaris, an interface world model that renders interactive UIs frame by frame like video generation: no code, no UI framework — the interface evolves in real time as you click and drag.

The disruptive part is skipping the "designer mocks it, engineer translates to code" pipeline: what you see is all there is, with no hidden code layer. Example: drag a clothing image onto yourself and the AI paints how it looks on you in real time. If UIs can be generated on demand, the App form factor itself could dissolve.

Current limitations: text rendering stability, long-session coherence, and reliability.
