Mark Cuban argues AI is shifting from LLMs to a "world view" approach built on understanding physics and interpreting video directly. Language was just the easiest starting point because it had enough structure to validate the method.
His central metaphor is "reading backward": anything built by rules carries those rules in its shape, and seeing enough output recovers them—exactly how decades of protein folding failure came apart. He mentions backing a satellite company that acts like a spectrograph, identifying ground materials and producing the first-ever record of what it passes over—no human wrote a word of it, despite humanity having flown over nearly the whole planet while measuring almost none of it.
Cuban believes this will supersede much of what Claude and Grok are doing, and that "we haven't seen the best of AI"—it's going to get crazier and crazier.
