Call for Papers: Synthetic Populations Research Topic in Frontiers in AI
frederickaplan · x · 2026-09-01
A Research Topic on "Synthetic Populations" has been launched in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence. Submissions covering theoretical foundations to practical applications are invited. Synthetic population technology enables the construction of large-scale artificial individuals that reproduce the distributions, interactions, and dynamics of real societies, allowing for the testing of public health policies, energy interventions, and other societal scenarios. The key scientific challenge lies in transforming plausible simulations into trustworthy scientific instruments, where calibration, validation, fairness, and privacy become essential.
