Austria's AITHYRA opens fully funded PhD call for biomedical AI in Vienna

AITHYRA, the Research Institute for Biomedical AI of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, opens its 2026 international PhD call from September 1 to November 1, with online panel interviews in late November and program start in September 2027, fully funded in Vienna. The institute builds an AI-native research environment combining computation, automation, intelligent agents, and experimental science to understand and reprogram biological systems, targeting cancer, immunological disorders, infectious diseases, and neurodegeneration. Students from computational, life-science, and medical backgrounds are all welcome.
