World Models Must Explicitly Track State for Reliability and Audibility

The author argues that a reliable world model must explicitly track what it knows and how it knows it. While the human brain performs this state management automatically at an unconscious level, models must do so explicitly to ensure reliability and auditability (which is also crucial for compliance). This explicit tracking is necessary for building valid and complex systems.
