Vector database maker Qdrant announced Vector Space Stream, a free 4-5 hour virtual event on September 17 featuring purely technical talks from its research and engineering teams.

- Token native storage: storing the model's own token IDs instead of UTF-8 text yields 2-3x compression, 10-100x faster reads, and 2-20x faster writes when the primary user is an agent — plus a flaw in the BPE algorithm the industry should address
