Anthropic Sued for Allegedly Scraping Tens of Thousands of Songs

Music publishers including Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell have filed a lawsuit in California against Anthropic, alleging it misused "tens of thousands" of copyrighted works, including hits by Mariah Carey, to train its Claude models. The plaintiffs claim it is one of the largest thefts of intellectual property in history and are seeking billions in damages.
