EU designates ChatGPT as very large online platform under stricter DSA rules

The European Commission has designated ChatGPT as a "Very Large Online Search Engine" after it crossed the DSA threshold of 45 million monthly EU users, placing it under much stricter rules. Reddit and Roblox were also designated "Very Large Online Platforms."
All three services now have four months to comply with additional DSA obligations, including stricter transparency and content moderation requirements. The poster notes this could mean even slower EU rollouts of new ChatGPT features.
