Huawei uses signal attenuation to detect grip hand, AI adjusts UI

Huawei figured out how to detect which hand you're holding the phone with by reading how your palm attenuates cell signals.

This physics caused the iPhone 4 “Antennagate” scandal in 2010, but Huawei turned it into a sensor. HarmonyOS fuses this signal data with internal sensors, processes it through an on-device AI model, and identifies the grip in under a second. The UI then adapts automatically—sliding the keyboard, answer buttons, and music controls toward the thumb.
