Anthropic launches Model Hardware Standard for safe agent operation
espricewright · x · 2026-08-28
Anthropic has kicked off the research preview for the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a new standard designed for AI agents to safely operate physical equipment in scientific research and advanced manufacturing. Citing a real-world case from Westmag, the post highlights that Claude and Codex have been instrumental in setting up US manufacturing in 2026. Hardware engineers utilized these tools to "vibe code" microcontrollers and tablets across MES, ERP, inline testing, and engineering stations.
