Anthropic releases Model Hardware Standard for safe AI operation of physical equipment

Anthropic has introduced the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a new standard designed to enable AI agents to safely operate physical equipment in scientific research and advanced manufacturing. Originally a collaboration with HHMI Janelia Research Campus, MHS is evolving into a broader industry effort. The video demonstrates how MHS works and showcases early examples of AI agents operating lab and manufacturing equipment. MHS is now available in research preview for select partners.
