Anthropic Releases MHS to Let Claude Control Robotic Arms and Microscopes

机器之心 · wechat · 2026-08-28

Anthropic launched the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), an extension of the MCP protocol designed to enable AI agents to safely and standardly manipulate physical devices. By introducing standardized drivers, MHS reduces device integration time from weeks to minutes and allows agents to read device characteristics and execute commands. The standard is currently collaborating with companies like AWS and Universal Robots for lab automation and robotics control. Tests show Claude can autonomously calibrate lasers and write control scripts via MHS, marking a key step for AI moving from the digital to the physical world.
