Meta Open-Sources SuperDex, a Contact-First Physics Engine for Dexterous Manipulation

Meta Reality Labs Research has open-sourced Project SuperDex, a contact-first physics engine designed specifically for dexterous manipulation. Unlike traditional simulators that approximate contact poorly while handling spatial movement, SuperDex's architecture is built around contact physics. It runs a single solver across rigid bodies, soft bodies, rods, tendons, shells, and cloth, enabling accurate non-convex collision and contact force distribution for realistic multi-finger grasping simulation. The code is available on GitHub.
