Anthropic launches MHS standard for AI agents to safely control physical lab equipment

Anthropic kicked off the first phase of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS) research preview, aiming to let AI agents safely operate physical equipment in scientific research and manufacturing. CMU researchers used MHS with an AI agent orchestrating liquid handlers, plate readers, and robotic arms, running experiments 3x faster.
