Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini were named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People in AI 2026. The pair previously built an AI tool at Google that helped design several generations of its TPU chip, and now co-found Ricursive Intelligence, which aims to sell a far more ambitious chip-design AI to chipmakers and hyperscalers.
The startup raised a $300M Series A (including Nvidia's venture arm) at a $4B valuation, just months after launching. Per Epoch, global specialized AI compute doubles every seven months. "If we can make AI make better chips, then those chips can power the next generation of AI models, and this loop can continue," says Mirhoseini.
