solyarisoftware · x · 2026-08-27
Community clients roundup
- Pi Desktop: the most complete desktop client, reusing existing Sessions, model logins and Extensions.
- Pi Web: browser workbench for Sessions, files, models and Skills; 3K+ GitHub stars.
- Remote Pi: native iOS/Android apps controlling your Pi remotely via Extension + QR code.
- pi-mobile: lightweight mobile web client with Tailscale/Cloudflare Tunnel and Face ID support.
- PI WEB: multi-device setup where Pi keeps running on a server even when the browser closes (author's favorite).
JetBrains joins in
JetBrains built ThinkRail, a GUI client for Pi with the Pi engine underneath. Highlights: chat, editor and terminal in one view; multiple workspaces per repo with independent git worktrees per agent; visible spec graph + diffs for tracing intermediate states. The author sees it as the GUI path that could retain mainstream users.
