Cisco gives 90k employees AI agents, routes majority to open-weight models for cost
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-08-27
Cisco deployed personalized AI agents called MyAgent for 90,000 employees, backed by 800+ subagents. For cost control, 50%-60% of requests are routed to open-weight models, 20%-30% to software automation, with only a small fraction reaching frontier models.
- Architecture & Security: Built on existing infrastructure since 2023, agents pull employee-specific context via connectors. Agents are isolated from each other; external actions require human approval, and a policy server blocks data exfiltration.
- Orchestration: Extends an existing layer routing across Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and Cisco's own Deep Network Model.
