Worm-inspired soft robot with inflatable muscles crawls and avoids obstacles

Researchers at SDU Soft Robotics built a worm-inspired limbless soft robot with inflatable artificial muscles and a flexible kirigami skin.

Using controlled body deformation plus sensors, it can crawl, turn, rotate, and avoid obstacles. The team suggests applications in search & rescue, inspection, and exploration. The poster quipped: "ok maybe we need to stop AI."
