AI entertainment will go "YouTube-style" in 3 phases, not kill Hollywood overnight
JupaTroopa09 · reddit · 2026-08-27
Predicts AI-generated entertainment won't end Hollywood overnight but will mirror YouTube/TikTok extended to full media works: creators with their own audiences, selling $4.99 games or $0.99/month studio subscriptions.
Three phases: (1) an explosion of mostly-bad AI content flooding feeds and peak backlash; (2) platforms and communities become curators, real fanbases form; (3) novelty fades, leaving creators with actual vision—one tiny team can now make what took hundreds of employees.
Disney and Warner won't vanish, but their monopoly on who may make "professional-looking" entertainment shrinks—just as record labels now coexist with millions of YouTubers.
