Vercel AI Gateway now supports asynchronous video generation to handle long-running tasks without HTTP request timeouts.
Key Updates
- Webhook Callback: Get notified upon completion without maintaining an open connection.
- Polling: Use generateVideo with getVideoStatus for short status checks.
- Immediate Return: startVideo returns a job ID instantly, ideal for queues and parallel jobs.
Technical Benefit
This composes with the Workflow SDK's webhook ability, offering a synchronous-like developer experience (DX) without the resource overhead, applicable to other durable execution systems as well.
