Claude browser automation is still harder than it should be
More-Pressure-7263 · reddit · 2026-08-26
The author reports significant engineering bottlenecks using Claude for browser automation. Playwright MCP consumed half the context window just filling a basic form. Anthropic's Computer Use was slower and frequently misclicked on modals. Switching to Playwright CLI saved tokens but reverted to manual selector writing, stalling on login walls. The author concludes that current Claude setups require heavy babysitting for live site interactions.
