Mixedbread launches Toast 1, a deep search agent that plugs into your own stack

Mixedbread has launched Toast 1, a fast deep-search agent that works with your own search stack: plug in your vector/full-text/structured search tools and let it deep search while managing its own context.
The demo is an app over 337,596 excerpts of SEC filings (24 issuers, 2005–2025, 10-K/10-Q/8-K). Toast 1 breaks a question into multi-round searches, returns answers with every clause cited, and visualizes each query, retrieval and ranking step. Claimed to be up to 10× cheaper and 12× faster; usable as a hosted agent in one API call, or bring your own harness to own the loop, tools and context budget.
