Addressing public concerns about data centers driving up electricity costs, the author created a continuously updated website to track the relationship between data center energization and power prices. The analysis finds that while new data centers cause a small local price increase, the effect plateaus. Projections based on existing data suggest there is significant room to expand data center capacity without causing major hikes in household electricity bills.
