Redwood Research and Anthropic have introduced the Conceptual Reasoning Index (CRI), an aggregate of three benchmarks designed to evaluate model reasoning on tasks lacking empirical feedback loops, such as philosophical argumentation and AI futurism. CRI focuses on measuring argumentation on unverifiable questions, a capability crucial for AI-assisted risk mitigation. In current rankings, the top scorer, Opus 5, achieved 73.6 against an estimated ceiling of 91. Access to the primary dataset, LMCA, is available upon request.
