South Korea's Sovereign AI Foundation Model project, launched by MSIT and NIPA in 2025, has advanced to its next stage. The government-backed competition provides substantial resources to develop globally competitive Korean frontier models. Following the first evaluation by official partner Artificial Analysis, LG AI Research, SK Telecom, and Upstage advanced, with Motif joining later.
