AI Startups: Find Enterprise Triggers Like New CFOs to Close Deals
iamrobotbear · x · 2026-08-25
A new wave of AI startups is targeting the enterprise market, but selling without an established brand is difficult. The best advice is to pick the right account at the right moment by looking for a specific trigger—a public signal that the company is seeking a new solution.
Instead of cold-calling the Fortune 500 list, identify signals such as the hiring of a new CFO or Controller, board pressure on DSO, headcount freezes, rising bad debt, ERP migration, AR platform renewal, acquisitions, or PE mandates. Since public companies are required to report much of this information, leveraging these data points provides a significant edge in sales.
