A rumor suggests that despite official claims about Opus, no one at Anthropic actually uses it. Instead, employees might be using an internal unreleased version like "mythos 5.1 turbofast." The publicly shipped Opus was reportedly rushed ("slop"), and the team was surprised by the bad feedback because they lacked actual experience with it. Adonis Singh noted this isn't surprising and speculated OpenAI staff might similarly use internal tools like "Astra" over public releases.
