nptacek · x · 2026-08-23
One developer argued that staying on the capability frontier basically means throwing out all your AI code and rebuilding from scratch every six months. nptacek agreed but added you should keep those half-finished attempts at big projects — every six months or so, a new model might oneshot them with the right context. He also noted he's currently data-mining his own conversation history to great effect.
