Cortex MCP Server: Semantic Memory with Quality Gates and Conflict Tracking
Synchronia_Mundi · reddit · 2026-08-23
Solo builder Filippo Pilo released Cortex, a hosted MCP semantic memory server with a free trial. Unlike standard memory solutions, Cortex features:
- Quality Gate: Checks novelty/redundancy before writing to prevent junk accumulation.
- Conflict Tracking: Extracts facts as typed claims and detects/tracks contradictions instead of overwriting.
- Coherence Scoring: Memories carry coherence scores, and answers can cite sources.
- Background Consolidation: A "REM" cycle promotes episodic memories to long-term storage.
It works with Claude (custom connector), Claude Code (claude mcp add), or any client via mcp-remote. The engine is closed-source (patent pending), but the connector is open-source on GitHub.
