Grok Build User Creates a Commodore 64-Style Music Composer App
DigitalColmer · x · 2026-08-22
With Grok Build now live in the Grok app on Android, a professional film composer immediately used it to build an app that composes music in the style of Rob Hubbard, using the sounds of the Commodore 64 SID chip.
The author credits Hubbard as the key influence that led him to a music degree, a fellowship at the London College, and a career as a film composer. The Commodore 64 was where he first learned programming — even assembly at age 13 — making this a nostalgic Grok Build showcase.
