Developer builds Commodore 64-style music generator with Grok Build
On August 22, as Grok's Build feature officially launched in the Android Grok app, a professional film composer (@DigitalColmer) immediately used it to develop a "Rob Hubbard-style" music generation app and published it within the Grok app.
Confirmed
- The app generates music based on the Commodore 64 SID chip sound library/sound sources
- The goal is to imitate the style of 1980s classic game composer Rob Hubbard
- The entire development was done in the Grok app on an Android phone, using the newly launched Build feature
- The app has been published in the Android Grok app
Why it matters
- The author being a professional film composer shows that creative professionals who aren't full-time programmers can quickly turn ideas into concrete products with Grok Build
- The case demonstrates a "rapid idea-to-working-app" workflow, a representative early-user practice after Grok Build's launch
