x402 Trust adds response signatures to prevent data tampering
MountainAssignment36 · reddit · 2026-08-21
x402 Trust has released an update where all JSON responses from free and paid endpoints are now hashed and signed. Developers are advised not to blindly trust the "trust score" but to verify the signature themselves using the provided public key.
This mechanism allows independent verification that:
- The data originates from the official x402 Trust service.
- No man-in-the-middle attacks or data modifications occurred.
- The data arrived exactly as sent, with no loss or alterations.
Developers should integrate this deterministic check into their agent's payment workflow before using data for decisions. Note that watch endpoints are currently unsigned to prevent leaking capability URLs.
