Stacked PRs vanish when Merge Queue is enabled — GitHub admits poor rollout communication

After publishing a video on GitHub's new stacked PRs, the author received feedback from multiple teams: enabling Merge Queue made the stacked PR interface disappear, and the gh stack CLI reported the feature wasn't enabled — despite docs claiming Merge Queue support.\n\nThe cause was a gradual rollout: squash merges combined with Merge Queue add complexity, so GitHub rolled it out slowly. GitHub admitted the communication was poor; broader availability was expected by August 14, with earlier access on request.\n\nThe bigger lesson: stacked PRs aren't just a productivity feature — they become part of a team's merge and review workflow, so compatibility claims need clear availability communication.
