Linux creator Linus Torvalds shared details of a challenging debug session while fixing an Intel Xe kernel driver bug. He utilized AI to handle significant grunt work, noting that while the AI repeatedly claimed the issue was unsolvable and suggested giving up, it faithfully added and analyzed debug code upon his insistence. This collaboration led to a fix for a memory rounding error causing GDM crashes. Torvalds credited the AI for its help but joked that it seemed trained by people less stubborn than himself.
