OpenEnv in Practice: Tool-Using Agents in Real-World Environments
SergioPaniego · x · 2026-08-21
Meta and Hugging Face collaborated to introduce OpenEnv, a framework for evaluating AI agents in real environments. Turing contributed a production-grade calendar environment. The study found that agents solve 90% of calendar tasks when given explicit IDs, but only 40% when phrased in natural language, with over half of failures due to malformed arguments rather than wrong tool choice.
