Out of Ahrefs Credits? Use an Agent to Control the Browser and Run Reports Manually
iannuttall · x · 2026-08-21
Shares a practical Agent trick to bypass API limits: when you run out of Ahrefs MCP credits, don't stop working.
Simply instruct the Codex Agent to use Chrome, log into your Ahrefs web account, and run the reports manually in the browser.
Result: The Agent grinds away in its own tab group, automatically performing keyword clustering and competitor research, and even implements the findings directly into your code. This is a classic "Agent + Browser Automation" combo, useful for SaaS tasks that lack APIs or have expensive quotas.
