SolidBot: offline robot-arm programming inside Solidworks with IK/FK automation
MatthewChang · x · 2026-08-21
SkinnyfatTony shared SolidBot, an offline programming tool being built for Solidworks. It solves the arm's inverse kinematics, sanity-checks solutions via Jacobian, then places castings where the math says via forward kinematics — inside your existing SOLIDWORKS cell.
- Welding is far along: coordinated motion, multi-axis control, multi-groups, weave, touch sense and seam tracking all working
- Material handling in progress: pick-and-place, palletizing/depalletizing
- Material removal, cutting and grinding on the roadmap
- Robot-agnostic; working Fanuc LS programs posted, with reverse-posting back from the controller into SolidBot
