Jaap Jumelet from the University of Amsterdam has won the 2025 EurAI Dissertation Award for his PhD thesis, "Finding Structure in Language Models". The work addresses whether LLMs truly capture linguistic grammar in a human-like way rather than just exploiting statistical patterns.
