TrueForge open-sourced: Agent harness with MCP as first-class interface
Background-Job-862 · reddit · 2026-08-20
TrueFoundry has open-sourced TrueForge, an agent harness designed to decouple MCP servers from agent logic. Previously, integrating MCP often felt "bolted on," requiring changes to agent code when swapping tools. TrueForge treats MCP as a first-class interface and separates the model from the runtime.
Key Features:
- Decoupled Architecture: Swapping MCP servers does not require altering agent logic.
- Model Agnostic: Run the same agent against Claude, open models, or local models without rebuilding the execution layer.
- Simple Integration: Connect servers in three steps; the harness automatically discovers and exposes tools to the agent.
