Nigerian Developer Creates AI Smart Glasses for Blind Navigation
Fowe · x · 2026-08-20
A developer in Nigeria has created AI-powered smart glasses designed to help blind people walk without a cane or guide. The device combines AI, sensors, and GPS to detect obstacles, avoid hazards, and provide location awareness. If the user gets lost, the GPS tracking system can send their location to a caregiver via WhatsApp or Email. The creator is currently developing the next version to include voice interaction, allowing the glasses to speak with the user and describe their surroundings.
