Nous Research launches Bot Mode for Hermes Desktop: named bots with own memory, skills and models
ayushtweetshere · x · 2026-08-19
Nous Research introduced Bot Mode for Hermes Desktop: agent profiles become a series of named Bots, each with its own role, model, memory, skills and profile picture. Bots can run on any model and communicate with each other — build a specialist Bot once and reuse it forever.
Long-time user @ayushtweetshere, who has run Hermes for months via Discord on a VPS, calls it one of the most stable agent harnesses on the market and hopes desktop Bot Mode can replace Cloud Cowork, which he finds bloated and slow, with Opus output too verbose to be useful.
