AuraOS update: local self-hosting with claimed zero token usage
Aggressive-Arm-1182 · reddit · 2026-08-19
The AuraOS project author shares a new update: once an SSD is plugged in, the system can be fully self-hosted with a few initial users, and it can already be run locally today.
The plan is to become a Wikipedia-style nonprofit funded by donations. The core idea is loading /core/ files before the LLM, with the SSD acting as a port/tunnel for external connections. The author mainly asks the community whether this release is clearer than previous ones and requests feedback.
