Periodic Labs trains trillion-parameter models on Miles framework, 3x throughput boost
hsu_byron · x · 2026-08-19
Byron Hsu highlights that Periodic Labs builds upon the open-source RL framework Miles to train trillion-parameter models for scientific RL across thousands of GPUs with extremely long-horizon rollouts. The collaboration achieved significant improvements: 3x faster rollout throughput, 10x faster weight synchronization, and 30x faster weight conversion, with all changes upstreamed.
