Opinion: AI firms must shift from detection to actual prevention

In a follow-up to the Guidelight scorecard, the author argues that the most critical change needed in AI control practices is a shift to actual prevention rather than just post-incident detection. The author warns that without serious commitment to prevention, a continued string of incidents is inevitable. The assessment previously found major gaps in basic control practices across all frontier AI companies.
