yacineMTB · x · 2026-08-18
An engineer shared details from a past contract with OpenAI's robotics team focused on parallelizing PPO algorithms for walking humanoids in a high-speed GPU physics simulator. The project was paused due to the rise of GPT. The author recently refactored the original bloated codebase (over 2GB of Python/TensorFlow bloat) during a vacation project, successfully demonstrating the inference of a trained humanoid.
