Sub8 gives each AI bot its own private Linux desktop to do your work
Daniel_Farinax · x · 2026-08-18
Sub8 is a desktop app (macOS/Windows/Linux) where every bot boots an isolated private Linux desktop via Docker/Colima and operates the machine like a person — looking at the screen, clicking and typing. Chat sits on the left, a live desktop stream on the right, view-only until you grab the mouse.
Key features:
- Bots never touch your local files or browser; logins live in a password vault granted per bot, secrets never appear in chat
- Standing routines: assign a job and schedule (changelogs, inboxes, reports) and the bot keeps going without new prompts
- Swappable "harness": Grok, Claude, OpenAI Codex, local Ollama or LM Studio models
Beta is available now.
