Dev adds animated characters to Sub8 bots that react to their work in real time
Daniel_Farinax · x · 2026-08-18
Daniel Farina built animated characters for his local bot project Sub8 that react based on what the bots are currently doing, and plans to keep making them feel alive.
Sub8 runs local bots on their own Linux VMs: any harness works (Grok Build, Codex, Claude, or local models like Qwen 3.8 via LM Studio / Ollama); a password vault lets bots log in without ever seeing the secret; users can take control anytime and hand it back. Currently in early beta.
