Why 3D Hardware is a Necessity for AI Advancement

Rebutting the claim that Meta ditched VR for AI, the author argues they are symbiotic. Multimodal AI models generate insights from perceiving the environment, but insights are only valuable if they lead to action. Current AI systems, for the most part, cannot act on the understanding they generate—meaning they aren't fully intelligent systems yet. New 3D hardware is necessary to bridge this gap and enable AI to take physical actions in the real world.
