Developer legitapi recalled applying for GPT-3 API access from Greg Brockman back in 2020. One of his ideas was essentially GitHub Copilot, a full year before it officially launched. While he eventually got invited a year later, he expressed gratitude for OpenAI kicking off much of the current AI progress.
